The pretty church of St. Clement’s, Knowlton, is set in the grounds of Knowlton Court manor house in Kent. The church is medieval in origin but outwardly Victorian. The lovely interior features carved wood, marble monuments, including one ascribed to Grinling Gibbons, and beautiful Victorian stained glass by Lavers, Barraud and Westlake that fills the church with coloured light. The chancel east window contains three scenes from the “Life of Christ”, including a depiction of the nativity, complete with ox and ass. This window was given in memory of Harriet Hughes D’Aeth by her husband and children. The D’Aeth family were owners of Knowlton manor until 1897.

St. Clement’s came into the care of CCT in 1991.
